CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME
4th February 2025 – “World Cancer Day”
St Francis’ Convent School, Sikandra, Agra in association with Pushpa Seva Foundation, Agra organised an awareness programme on Cancer on 4th February 2025," The World Cancer Day". Mr Anurag Mittal, Zila Sanyojak , Mrs Pinky Singh and Mrs Payal Garg, Social Activists were the chief guest of the programme. The chief guest and other guests were felicitated with saplings, symbol of growing relationship and gratitude for their valuable presence.
Children were given inputs regarding the disease cancer, its types, causes, symptoms and preventions. They were also made aware of the objective of the World Cancer Day and the Theme of the Year 2025 "United by Unique". Children took pledge of spreading cancer awareness and educate others about the importance of early detection and prevention of the disease. By taking this pledge the children and the teachers became the part of making the world record of 50 lakh people taking pledge at the same time.
The Chief Guest Mr. Anurag Mittal addressed the gathering and laid emphasis on keeping a healthy lifestyle and avoiding all those things that can lead to development of cancer in the body.
The programme proved to be highly informative and impactful, leading students with essential takeaway that will help them lead healthier life and actively spread awareness within their communities. The initiative successfully instilled a sense of responsibility among the students to contribute to a cancer - free future.
